New Patient Program
Every new patient at Wheat Family Dental is introduced to every aspect of the practice by our Patient Coordinator. She will walk you through the “New Patient Experience” every step of the way, from your initial phone call to your treatment completion. Our Patient Coordinator is there to answer any questions you may have as well as educate you on your individual benefit program and treatment coordination.
During your new patient visit you will experience:
- Completion of your Welcome Packet
- Complete Series of Dental Pictures
- Technologically Advanced Intraoral Photographs
- Doctor’s Comprehensive Evaluation to include Hygiene Examination and Periodontal Charting to determine what type of cleaning is suitable for your needs and to determine the health of your gums. The exam will also include checking for cavities, loose crowns or fillings, oral cancer and more.
- Cleaning if Required
- Complete Treatment Planning Session with Benefits Overview.
What type of cleaning do you need?
Based on the results of the comprehensive evaluation, one of three different cleaning alternatives will be suggested for optimal oral health:
- Prophylaxis (Regular Cleaning)
- Full Mouth Debridement
- Scaling and Root Planning
The type of cleaning necessary to reach optimal dental health is determined through the evaluation and measurement of the gum’s pocket depths surrounding each tooth.
